This book edited by Georg in Geneva, talks about the history of the wars in the Caucasus from the times of David Urquhart, the Lawrence of the Caucasus, in the first half of the XIXth century until the exodus of the Circassians and the Chechens in the Ottoman Empire. There is also a panoramic view of the various people of the Caucasus: the Circassians, the Abkhazes, the Ossetes, the Chechens, the Ingouches, and the various people of the Daghestan (Lesghis, Avars, Kazi-Koumouks). A presentation of the main historical facts and figures of Georgia is also included.
